  • Brass Compass

    A magnificent English made prismatic brass compass with engraving to the lid 'Made in England for Otto Boettger Adelaide'. The compass has crosshair for sighting onto targets, wind rose dial marked with degrees, dial locking mechanism, and lens cap to protect the prism. Circa 1900.

    Otto Boettger was a retailer of scientific instruments. Their premises were established at 88 Flinders Street, Adelaide in 1877. In 1882 the business moved to a larger building at 120 Flinders Street.
