Magnificent painted cast metal alloy model Avro Vulcan delta wing ‘V’ bomber in RAF ‘anti-flash white’ livery, on original stand. By the renowned model making firm of Westway Models, circa 1960.

The iconic Vulcan was a strategic bomber in service with the RAF from 1956 until 1984. It was designed to provide a crucial part of the United Kingdom's airborne nuclear deterrent and played a major role during the early period of the cold war. The Vulcan was a 'new-technology' aircraft. It was essentially a bomber which was designed to evade interception by enemy fighter aircraft through flying fast and high. It is, however, perhaps best remembered for its conventional long range bombing raids during the 1982 Falklands war.

Dimensions: 25 cm/9⅞ inches (length) x 28 cm/11 inches (wing span) x 14 cm/5½ inches (maximum height on stand).
