A beautiful box made from Sodalite. Originally used as a cigarette box, a gilt metal hinge joins the top and bottom sections.
Both Sodalite and Lapis Lazuli get their bright blue colour from the mineral Lazulite and they are therefore often mistaken for each other. Sodalite, as with this box, typically has, white veins & patches, and sometimes an odd dash of red or orange in it.
Dimensions: 15.75 cm/6¼ inches (length) x 10.5 cm/4¼ inches (depth) x 4.25 cm/1⅝ inches (height).
