Ross 10 x 70 Gunsight

A splendid binocular gunsight with 10 power magnification and 70mm objective lenses by Ross of London, circa 1940. Has integrated mechanism with three different filters to enhance the image in different light conditions. The binoculars were originally made to be deck mounted on a WWII Royal Navy warship. They have been stripped of their original paint, the cast aluminium polished to a mirror finish and brass components gold plated. The binocular block has then been mounted on a custom made cradle fitted to a period, height adjustable wooden tripod stand. The optics have been fully refurbished to the highest standards. The binoculars also come with a newly made hardwood floor stand to provide stability to the tripod and give protection to floor surfaces.
