Magnificent and original 1950s painted cast metal alloy Avro Vulcan delta Wing ‘V’ bomber in RAF livery, on original stand. By the renowned model making firm of Westway Models.
An early example; the wing shape appears to be the second iteration (phase 2) and the tail is the original design, before it was modified with a new radar jamming system fitted into the later "fat" tailcone.

Dimensions: 22.75 cm/9 inches (length) x 24.5 cm/9⅝ inches (wing span) x 15 cm/5⅞ inches (height on stand).

The iconic Vulcan was a strategic bomber in service with the RAF from 1956 until 1984. It was designed to provide a crucial part of the United Kingdom's airborne nuclear deterrent and played a major role during the early period of the cold war. The Vulcan was a 'new-technology' aircraft. It was essentially a bomber which was designed to evade interception by enemy fighter aircraft through flying fast and high. It is, however, perhaps best remembered for its conventional long range bombing raids during the 1982 Falklands war.
