Turn of the Century cased Ptarmigan by the famous taxidermy firm of Roland Ward. As indicated by the script applied to the end of the case it was originally on display in Ward's London premises, known as 'The Jungle', on Piccadilly. The lettering on the front of the case states that the birds were shot by I.R.P on the Scottish mountain Scheihallion September 1897. The glass used to form the case is the original and has at some stage in the past received a small knock that has put cracks in the right hand corner of the top, at the front. There is also a scratch in the glass along the front of the top edge of the case.

Glazed Case Dimensions: 26 inches x 11½ inches x 20 inches.
