• RAF Presentation Champagne Bucket

    A wonderful silver plated RAF presentation ice bucket with enscription to FLT. LT. Bob Barcilon 1961 by No. 2 (AC) Squadron and engraved squadron motif. Made by Walker & Hall of Sheffield. It includes a strainer in the bottom to help the ice to remain separate from the water. In excellent condition.

    Robert Lewis Barcilon was a pilot of distinction. Amongst his achievements;
    He was part of the 1958 RAF Black Arrows team that achieved the 22 Hunter loop. Where 22 Hawker Hunter jets looped in formation, achieving a record that still stands today.
    He was part of No. 2 Squadron during the late 1950s and was instrumental in the investigations and testing that were carried out in the Supermarine Swift to do with transonic flight.
    In recognition of his efforts throughout his career, he was awarded the Air Force Cross that the Queen bestowed upon him in 1977.
