An intricately carved wooden box with brass details and key; modelled to resemble a leather trunk. Circa 1900. The interior has been relined in navy blue velvet. This spectacular miniature trunk was originally made as a gift box for renowned turn of the century Parisian chocolatier Boissier, to fill with exquisite confectionery; at a time when chocolates were a true luxury!
