A rare scale model of a Rolls Royce grille with working radiator vents and mascot by Louis Lejeune Ltd. The mascot was made between 1917 and 1922 by Britain’s finest mascot maker and is entitled;
'Winged Goddess on Wheel’.

Rolls Royce appear to have used this type of grille from the beginning of the 1920’s, but the black lettering on the double R badge was introduced in 1933. It is therefore likely that this scaled down presentation piece was made circa 1935.

Apparently no measuring instruments are used in making the Rolls-Royce radiator grille, it is made entirely by hand and eye. It takes one man one day to make, and then five hours are spent polishing it.
As it had become so synonymous with the brand, the grille was registered as a trademark in 1974.

Dimensions 40.5 cm/16 inches (width) x 65 cm/25½ inches (height)
