Extremely rare pair of 12, 20, 40 x 80 (inter-changeable 12, 20 or 40 power magnification and 80 mm objective lenses) large scale military binoculars from the 1930s on original tripod and mount, by Carl Zeiss of Jena. With rotating ocular turrets that allow wider-angle viewing at 12x magnification, a 'mid' setting at 20x and high-power viewing at 40x.
The binoculars have been stripped of their original paint, then the cast aluminium and brass polished to a mirror finish. The optics have also been refurbished. These binoculars are mounted on their original tripod stand and come with a newly made wooden floor stand to provide stability to the tripod and give protection to floor surfaces.
