Hand crafted in November 1934, this British aircraft propeller was carved from laminated planks of mahogany.
Boasting a 6.5-foot diameter and blades pitched at 2.9 feet, the propeller would likely have been paired to an engine such as the Gispy III or Gipsy Major that was utilised in planes such as the de Havilland DH.82 Tiger Moth.
Brass is fixed to the leading edge of the blades for enhanced durability and the sides of the wooden boss feature stamped specification details. The central boss features the later addition of a decorative brass plate.
