A rare 'Half Giant' size Dunhill Aquarium lighter with gilt finish. First seen in 1949, the creation of the Aquarium designs used a reverse intaglio technique where the inside of the four lucite (perspex) panels were first carved and then foiled & painted. This was a complicated process but one that successfully produced the three dimensional effect that these lighters became renowned for.
