A beautiful oval, cushion fronted frame made entirely of tortoiseshell save for the gold hinge that attaches the foot of the frame. By Albert Barker, Bond Street, London, circa 1895.
Unusually, this frame was designed without any glazing. The picture is held in place by a removable bead of gold that sits inside the rim of the frame.
