Stylish cylindrical silver canister with tiger's eye stone top set under a silver open octagonal honeycomb-patterned design. With hand-chased silver body and gilded interior. The canister is hallmarked Birmingham 1975, with maker's marks for Deakin & Francis, and was originally used for storing cigarettes.
Founded in 1786, Deakin & Francis is today, seven generations later, still owned and managed by the Deakin family (James, Henry and David Deakin). In recent times the house speciality has become the manufacture of a large range of gentlemen's cufflinks.
