A particularly fine example of a Dunhill Aquarium table lighter with gilt finish; great colour, superb condition. First seen in 1949, the creation of the Aquarium designs used a reverse intaglio technique where the inside of the four lucite (perspex) panels were first carved and then foiled & painted. This was a complicated process but one that successfully produced the three dimensional effect that these lighters became renowned for.
