An unusual patchwork stone box and ashtray set, carved from pieces of various semi-precious stones including malachite and serpentine. 

The stone box, originally used to house cigarettes, features a gilt metal hinge and frame and white agate interior. Circa 1970.

Dimensions:

Box - 12cm/4¾ inches (length) x 9cm/3½ inches (depth) x 2.75cm/1⅛ inches (height).

Ashtray - 8.5cm/3⅜ inches (length) x 8.5cm/3⅜ inches (width) x 2 cm/¾ inch (height).
