Clear Glass Match Striker

A fine clear glass match striker with silver collar and liner to the recess hallmarked Birmingham 1912 and stamped with makers mark for John Grinsell and Sons. Also has original retailers mark for Kirby Beard & Co who had started as a pin and needle manufacturer but by the beginning of the twentieth century were also well known to the wealthy who would 'seek out the name Kirby Beard as a supplier of luxury accessories and jewellery'.
