An unusual clear glass match striker with silver collar hallmarked Chester 1895 and stamped with maker's mark for Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings Shepherd.
Applied to the face of the striker is an enamelled silver maritime pennant; a white saltire on a field of cobalt blue. The striker has signs of being well used but its rarity makes it very collectable.
