A handsome silver plated Dunhill aquarium table lighter; Circa 1950. The creation of the aquarium designs used a reverse intaglio technique where the inside of the four lucite (perspex) panels were first carved and then foiled & painted. This was a complicated process but one that successfully produced the three dimensional effect that these lighters became renowned for.
