Magnificent and rare mahogany backgammon table by Alfred Dunhill.
The stylish leather covered playing surface has matching leather counters and shakers, the shakers bearing the Alfred Dunhill mark. There are four drawers with campaign-style handles including wooden lined compartments for cigarettes and baize lined compartments for the counters and shakers.
The table is supported by cabriole legs and comes equipped with a quarter-sawn veneered top that can be placed to transform it into a poker or bridge table.
A very similar table design is illustrated in the 1970s Dunhill catalogue (see last photo).
Dimensions: 32⅛ inches/81.5 cm x 37 inches/94 cm x 31¾ inches/80.5 cm tall (+ 2.25 cm/⅞ inch thick top).
