A stunning Art Deco Louis Vuitton leather dressing case with original tortoiseshell and cut crystal fittings.
The case and fittings are in excellent condition and the natural leather hide of the exterior is superb and untouched, having been protected by its leather trimmed canvas foul weather cover.
The interior of the case features a lining of brown Morocco leather, complemented by pockets designated for various items such as the tortoiseshell hair and clothes brushes, vanity mirror, shoe horn, and glove stretcher. Additionally, the tortoiseshell comb is included and adorned with inlaid gold initials.
The internal fittings of the case also consist of six cut crystal containers with silver gilt mounts. These mounts bear LV's maker's mark and British import marks for 1925, as well as the stamp "GS" indicating the involvement of George Stockwell, Stockwell & Co Ltd – a prominent importer and active foreign and general shipping agent.
