Unusual English, three-piece, silver plated cocktail shaker, circa 1930. The body of the shaker is engraved with the recipes for fifteen different cocktails. Made from a heavy gauge of silver plate, lovely quality and feels sturdy. The three-piece shaker is the quintessential design, with a base section, top and cap. The top contains an integral strainer.
Stamped on the base, A1, to signify the maker's highest classification, in order to distinguish 'superior quality' silver plate. The base also has the makers mark for Suckling Ltd, Birmingham. Founded by William Suckling in 1895, the company specialised in quality silver-plated silverware marketed under the trade names Burmese, Regis Plate, and as stamped in the base of this shaker, Kingsway Plate.
