The base of the jug is stamped with the three marks that America’s preeminent silver maker, The Gorham Silver Company used for it’s Sterling silver items. Also stamped with Gorham date mark for 1946, 'Sterling' and '4 Pint'; Four times the capacity of most other shakers!
The shaker features an ecclesiastical heraldic coat of arms with a Latin inscription from Psalm 17 Chapter 29: Illuminas Lucernam Meam – Lightest My Lamp O Lord
