Victorian Boxed Tournament Size 'Staunton' Pattern Chess set with Board

A wonderful large scale example of a classic English chess set with weighted, turned and carved Boxwood and Ebony 'Staunton' pattern pieces, in a period oak box. Circa 1890.

The chess pieces are sold with a similarly aged, suitably sized chessboard that has a mahogany frame with pine back, containing Rosewood and Satinwood squares.
The board measures 24 inches square and is made up of 2¾ inch squares.

Dimensions: Height of King- 11.75 cm/4⅝ inches. Box- 34 cm/13⅜ inches (length) x 16.25 cm/6⅜ inches (depth) x 13 cm/5⅛ inches (height).
