WWII Royal Navy 10 x 70 Gunsight

A splendid naval binocular gunsight with 10 power magnification and 70mm lenses by Ross of London, circa 1940. Has integrated mechanism with three different filters to enhance the image in different light conditions and external dark filters that can be slid over the objective lenses to reduce glare when necessary. The binoculars have been stripped of their original paint, the cast aluminium polished to a mirror finish and brass components gold plated. The binocular block has then been mounted on a custom made cradle fitted to a period, height adjustable wooden tripod stand that has been stained black. The optics have been fully refurbished to the highest standards. The binoculars also come with a newly made black stained hardwood floor stand to provide stability to the tripod and give protection to floor surfaces.
