A MK. 2A British Flying Helmet with it's original storage case; circa 1974. Known to the pilots as a 'Bonedome', complete with Visor, Headset and Mic. Also included with the case is the servicing record for the helmet and original instructions for fitting and maintenance.

Dimensions: 26.75 cm/10½ inches (width) x 27.25 cm/10¾ inches (depth) x 25.5 cm/10 inches (height).

The MK. 2 & 2A were the first protective helmets to incorporate avionics and a retractable visor within one unit. They have retractable anti-glare visors and blast screens which shut automatically in the event of an ejection. Mk.2 and Mk.2A that where used in the Royal Navy (Fleet Air Arm) had a cross of adhesive reflective tape across the top of the shell for improved recognition purposes.
