Cut Crystal Ice Cube Bucket

A stylish weighty cut crystal bucket for ice cubes by Orrefors with plated swing handle, circa 1980. Designed by Olle Alberius (Sweden 1926-1993). Makers mark etched on the base.

Dimensions: 13.2cm/ 5¼ inches (diameter) x 14cm/ 5⅜ inches (height not including handle).

Orrefors Glassworks (also known as just Orrefors) was a glassworks in the Swedish village Orrefors in Småland. Orrefors started manufacturing crystal glassware and art glass around 1914. Their reputation for excellence spread internationally in the mid-1920s and the range grew to include crystal stemware, barware, vases, sculptures and lighting products in crystal. Since the 1970s, designers such as Olle Alberius, Eva Englund, Lars Hellsten, Anne Nilsson, Erika Lagerbielke, Helen Krantz have all contributed to Orrefors’s rich heritage.
