A fine Victorian leather cigar protector with a decorative embossing design to the front and back and a metal match striking plate fixed to one end. Expands for differing lengths of cigar. Circa 1850.

Dimensions (when fully closed): 12 cm/4¾ inches (length) x 6 cm/2⅜ inches (width) x 3.5 cm/1⅜ inches (thick).
Will take up to three cigars with maximum diameter of 2.25 cm/in excess of 52 ring gauge and expands to take a maximum length of 18.5 cm/7⅜ inches.
