Fornasetti Umbrella and Stick Stand

A 1950s lithographic transfer decorated, lacquered metal umbrella stand. Complete with original removable drain pan. The decoration of this toleware umbrella stand depicts a selection of sticks and umbrellas. Has original maker's label on the back.

The Artist and designer Piero Fornasetti was born in 1913 and died in 1988. Working in Milan, Fornasetti created entire room settings. Amongst many other things, the Italian designer is known for this type of whimsical trompe l'oeil work on metal.
