Spectacular cylindrical ribbed crystal and silver plate decanter, circa 1965. Of a larger size; standing at over 31.5cm/12⅜ inches tall. Has original retailer's label on the base.
Designed by Sergio Asti, one of the top Italian industrial designers who became a founding member of the ADI (Italian Industrial Design Association). Many of the items he has designed are today part of collections in prestigious Design Museums around the world.
The decanter was made by Arnolfo di Cambio, who were founded in Colle Val d’Elsa, in the heart of Tuscany, in 1963.
For more than 60 years and three generations, the firm has absorbed all the skills and tradition of crystal working the town is famous for, combining these with ongoing technological innovation and collaboration with artistic and technical designers.
Products by Arnolfo di Cambio, now a brand name of international renown, have earned a range of prizes and awards, and the firm has thus become one of Italy’s leading glass manufacturers.
Dimensions: 11.6cm/ 4⅝ inches (diameter) x 31.5cm/12⅜ inches (height).
