Exceptional Sterling Huntsman’s Flask

Unusually large silver and glass flask with the silver on the top half of the body woven to resemble wicker basket work. Has cork lined stopper on a hinged bayonet closer, stamped Sterling. A silver removable cup covers the lower half with gold plaques either side, one depicting a leaping game fish and the other a heraldic symbol. The base has the trade mark of America’s preeminent silver maker, The Gorham Silver Company who used this mark for its Sterling silver items. Also has Gorham date mark for 1911. Stamped ‘sterling’ 1⅛ pint, and the retailers name, Davis & Freeman, Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
