Leather Cigar Case by Butler

A fine Victorian leather cigar protector embossed with the makers name and date of design registration 'May 22 1844'. With a metal match striking plate fixed to one end and internal sprung lever to hold the cigars in place. Case expands for differing lengths of cigar. Circa 1850.

Dimensions (when fully closed): 12 cm/4⅞ inches (length) x 6 cm/2⅜ inches (width) x 2.5 cm/1⅛ inches (thick).
Will take up to three cigars with maximum diameter of 1.6 cm/42 ring gauge and expands to take a maximum length of 19 cm/7½ inches.
