Nautical Silver Cigar Box

Glorious silver box, hallmarked Birmingham 1896, made to house cigars. The lid of the box is beautifully decorated with two inset enamel nautical flags.

We know the left-hand flag to be the burgee for the Royal Albert Yacht Club. Cedar lined to the interior with a maker's mark for silversmiths Deakin and Francis.

Founded in 1786, Deakin & Francis is today, seven generations later, still owned and managed by the Deakin family (James, Henry and David Deakin). In recent times the house speciality has become the manufacture of a large range of gentlemen's cufflinks.

Dimension: 9 cm/ 3½ inches (height) x 28 cm/ 11inches (width) x 11.5 cm/ 4½ inches (depth).
