Stylish cylindrical silver canister with a malachite octagonal honeycomb-patterned top, hand-chased silver body and gilded interior. The canister is hallmarked Birmingham 1977, with maker's marks for Deakin & Francis, and was originally used for cigarettes.
Founded in 1786, Deakin & Francis is today, seven generations later, still owned and managed by the Deakin family (James, Henry and David Deakin). In recent times the house speciality has become the manufacture of a large range of gentlemen's cufflinks.
Dimensions: 9.50cm/ 3¾ inches (height) x 6.50cm/ 2⅝ inches (diameter).
