Silver Cube Wine Cooler/Ice Bucket

A deceptively modern looking antique wine cooler and ice bucket in silver by Arthur James Ramsay, silversmith of Dundee, who succeeded his father James Ramsay, and continued the maker’s hallmark J.R. in a horizontal oval.

The exceptional design consists of a framework of uniform silver bars mounted in a cube formation on ball feet. The assay mark for Glasgow and date mark for 1901 are clearly identified placing this stunning piece of silver in the first year of Edward VII’s reign (Hallmarked Glasgow 1901).
