Silver Horseshoe Cufflinks

Sterling Silver cufflinks by the Niels Erik From workshop, stamped 925 (the same purity as sterling silver). Also incorporating an oxidising technique to blacken part of the silver. Circa 1965.

Dimensions: 1.6cm/⅝inch (diameter) x 2.5cm/1 inch (length).

Niels Erik From was born in Denmark in 1908. He trained as a silversmith and first opened a shop in 1931 from which he also sold some of his designs, but the N.E. From workshop was first registered in the southern Danish town of Nakskov in 1944. His son-in-law Hilmer Jensen joined the management team in 1960, and took over the firm in 1986 after Niels Erik's death. His work was exported worldwide in the 1960s and 70s and Niels Erik From has now joined the 'greats' of modernist Danish Design.
