WWI Artillery Gun Sight Telescope

An unusual military telescope with 8-times magnification and a 1¾-inch objective lens, by top London makers Negretti & Zambra. In addition to the maker's name, it is engraved with the year 1917.

The barrel of this brass gun sight has been stripped of its original black finish, polished, cleaned, and then plated with a thin layer of gold to prevent tarnishing and minimise the need for cleaning.

The telescope has then been mounted on a custom-made cradle fitted to a wooden tripod stand that is period to the scope and comes with a newly made hardwood floor stand to provide stability. The optics have been fully refurbished to the highest standards.
