A beautiful box made from Llanite. Originally used as a cigarette box, a gilt metal hinge joins the top and bottom sections.
Llanite, also known as Que Sera stone, is a porphyritic rhyolite with distinctive phenocrysts of blue quartz (a rare quartz color) and perthitic feldspar (light grayish-orangeish). An igneous rock found only in the Llano Uplift area of Llano County, Texas and therefore relatively rare. Llanite, which is similar to granite, is very strong.
