Silver Six Dial Game Counter

Exceptional and rare Victorian six dial game counter. Sterling silver, hallmarked London 1876 in full working order. Beautifully crafted by the silversmith Henry William Dee and retailed by Walter Thornhill, New Bond Street, London.

This wonderfully tactile object would have been used by the Head Game Keeper to keep track of the number of birds and ground game that were shot on a particular drive.

The guns would have been shooting / hunting Partridges, Snipe, Rabbits, Pheasants, Woodcock and Hares. Each quarry has its own dial.
