Attractive Victorian cigar protector with metal match striking plate on the end and internal spring to hold the cigars in place and keep them from getting damaged. Expands for differing lengths of cigar. Circa 1860.
Dimensions (when fully closed): 12 cm/4¾ inches (length) x 7 cm/2¾ inches (width) x 3.25 cm/1¼ inches (thick).
Will take up to two cigars with maximum diameter of 2.4 cm/50 ring gauge and expands to take a maximum length of 17 cm/6¾ inches.
