Gold-Veined Granite Stone Box

A beautiful box made from granite. Originally used as a cigarette box, the interior of the lid and base are black Agate. A gilt metal hinge joins the top and bottom sections.

Gold-veined  granite is an igneous rock, primarily composed of quartz and feldspar. The bands of golden brown are localised concentrations of iron oxide and the shiny black flakes, scattered throughout, come from biotite mica.
