Polished Silver Picture Frame

Excellent silver portrait format frame. Has original red velvet covered back and foot. Maker's mark for Asprey, London. Hallmarks for London 1917.

Engraved with the Greater Coat of Arms of the Kingdom of Belgium. A central shield features the Belgian lion in rampant pose, flanked by two guardian lions, each holding the national flags of Belgium, all under a draped pavilion. Beneath is the motto, L’union fait la force, which translates to 'Unity makes strength’.
